Pro tips on how to create and manage online accounts.

  • Only use strong passwords (eg. 9OkshOgsIlvA8a).
  • Use a solid and reputed password manager such as Bitwarden (do not use online/cloud-based password managers if possible).
  • Remove useless accounts (websites that you may have registered with which are of no important use) so that you reduce the risk of your password and email address being leaked.
  • Security questions and answers should not be easy to find.
  • Security questions and answers can be random and managed in the password manager.
  • Rotate passwords regularly (ex: once a year).
  • Have a clear and secure way to share passwords (eg. send username and password separately using different platforms).
